SOS - HGIC received book donations from Sedinam and Eline Asase; daughters of Nana Afoah Appiah-Korang, an alumna of SOS HGIC (Class of 1996) and their friends; Amirrah Uwhubetine, Azzarrée Uwhubetine, Isabelle Quaynor (sister of Nii Addo Quaynor, Class of 2019) and Oliviah Matthews. This group of friends started a non-profit organization called Child2Child foundation ("C2C") to share their love of reading by donating books to West Africa, starting with Nigeria, where most of them grew up. Celebrating Enkutatash
One of the best qualities of SOS - HGIC is the wide range of cultures represented in our students and staff, and we are always embracing and celebrating these cultures every chance we get. On the 13th of September we celebrated Ethiopia’s new year “Enkutatash.” The word Enkutatash is heavy with symbolism as it not only means the ‘gift of jewels’ but also represents the end of the rainy season. Introducing our new Modern Languages Laboratory
We are excited to announce the launch of our new Modern Languages Laboratory located at the Hermann Gmeiner Block. The modern languages lab will serve as a focal point and a beneficial resource center for student learning and information sharing about language-related issues and opportunities.
