Alumni Return to HGIC to Celebrate National Day
Former students of SOS-HGIC returned to their alma mater to attend the national day. The event featured a variety of cultural performances, including traditional dances and skits, as well as a diverse selection of dishes from around the world.
The alumni were excited to reconnect with the school community. “I think it’s really great that the school is still celebrating cultural diversity and allowing students to showcase their heritage,” said Ellen, a 2005 graduate of HGIC. The students worked hard to ensure that each country represented at the event was given equal attention and respect. “We wanted to make sure that all of the students felt included and that their cultures were celebrated,” said Makanaka, the lead forĀ Zimbabwean studentsĀ
The alumni who attended the event were impressed by the level of diversity and cultural pride displayed by the current students. “It’s really inspiring to see how much the school has changed and how much more diverse it has become since I graduated,” said Felicia, an alumna. “I’m proud to see that my alma mater is embracing cultural diversity and promoting inclusion.”
