During the summer break, four incoming DP(Diploma Programme) students from SOS-Hermann Gmeiner International College (SOS-HGIC) named Nana Ahenfua Dankwa, Papa Yaw Amoako-Atuobi, Jake Darkoh, and Maame Afua Asabea Yeboah donated around 400 books to Nsarawa Dansoman Cluster of Schools. This community service project was focused on quality education under the UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4. The students chose Dansoman Basic School for their project. They cleaned and organized the library, engaged students in reading, and aimed to promote literacy among the students. Incoming DP(Diploma Programme) student, Maame Afua Asabea Yeboah, a student at SOS-Hermann Gmeiner International College, was inspired to refurbish and furnish the Kindergarten classroom block at Adidiso Municipal Assembly Basic School near Nankese in the Eastern Region. The funds raised were used to repair and paint the ceiling, supply cupboards for teaching materials, and provide furniture for the children, all amounting to GH¢6,000. Maame Afua financed the project through funds earned from selling snacks and lemonade, along with income from weekend and holiday work in her mother's stores.   She was driven by the desire to recreate the lively and colorful learning

Mr. Edem Lithur (2014), a former head boy of SOS-HGIC, recently visited his alma mater after several years. Upon arriving at the school, he was greeted by his former teachers and students who were thrilled to see him again. A group of alumni from SOS-HGIC recently gathered with students to discuss issues related to masculinity and femininity. The gathering was split into two separate forums, one for men and one for women. The men's forum, dubbed "Brotherhood and Beyond: Exploring Models For Male Excellence" was held in the dining hall. The group discussed issues related to manhood and masculinity. Former students of SOS-HGIC returned to their alma mater to attend the national day. The event featured a variety of cultural performances, including traditional dances and skits, as well as a diverse selection of dishes from around the world. The alumni were excited to reconnect with the school community. Paul Forjoe, an artist and alumnus of SOS-HGIC, returned to his alma mater to lead the Poetry/Spoken Words Community Action Service (CAS) group. The Poetry/Spoken Words CAS group was created to provide a platform for students to express themselves creatively through poetry and spoken word.  Under Paul’s leadership, the Poetry/Spoken Words CAS group has flourished. Paul brings his years of experience in the arts to the group, helping students develop their writing and performance skills. The recent Alumni Advisory Council meeting was a productive and collaborative gathering of school staff and alumni. During the meeting, we discussed the objectives of the alumni office and reviewed our past events and activities while also discussing upcoming events. The discussion was focused on fostering a sense of community among alumni, promoting the school's values and traditions, and supporting current students and faculty. We also brainstormed ways to improve these events and incorporate the suggestions of alumni attendees in the future.  The meeting was a great opportunity to increase alumni engagement and participation, and we left with a clear
