SOS-HGIC Wellness Day
Wellness Day was created to introduce both students and staff to the concept of mindfulness to the SOS-HGIC community, and teach effective coping skills that we can use to alleviate the stresses of daily life. We were joined by Nana Amoako-Anin of Bliss Yoga Accra, who shared stories about her mindfulness journey in a talk titled “While You Keep Doing Your Best, Take A Long, Great Exhale", and led the community in exercises over the course of the day. SOS-HGIC – Staff Dress Up Day – 2022
As the popular saying goes “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”. Leading up to "International Workers' Day," staff at SOS-HGIC commemorated the day by organising our ‘’Staff Dress up Day 2022’’ in which staff members dressed up in a different profession of their choice. The event was spiced up with several activities such as a dancing competition and a costume exhibition. Prizes were awarded to the best dressed staff and the best dressed department. SOS-HGIC – Orator of the Year 2022
Last week was such a thrilling and fun-filled week. The week commenced with spirit week and we crowned it on Friday, 18th March 2022 with The Orator of the year with the theme “Heroes are Human Too”. After a very keen competition, Nuna Kwasi AGBODZA of MYP5 emerged the overall winner.The entire HGIC community congratulates him and all students who participated.

IB DP2 Results – Resilient Class of 2021
The resilient class of 2021 have excelled themselves, and we are suitably impressed. We would like to congratulate all 98 students in the IB DP class of 2021 on their examination results; we are very proud of them and they should celebrate this moment and take pride in their achievements and examination success. All our students are a credit to the college and their families and deserve honorable mentions but space does not permit this, however, I would like to single out one student who has achieved the rare and outstanding perfect score of 45! Sickle Cell Foundation receives support from SOS student
A student of SOS-Herman Gmeiner International College, Chloe Elinam Mawuenyega, has donated a sum of ¢12,000 to support the Sickle Cell Foundation of Ghana. The 15-year-old, through a car wash fundraising activity, raised the said amount and presented a cheque to the Foundation in Accra last week. The activity forms part of the requirements for all Year-5 students to explore an area of personal interest with outcomes. MYP Authorization Announcement
SOS-Hermann International College (SOS-HGIC) is delighted to announce that we have received official authorization to offer Years 4 and 5 of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP), as an IB World School. Our official announcement came in October 2020, after the verification visit which took place in September 2020. Having offered the IB Diploma Programme (IB DP) since 1993, our MYP authorization allows us to focus on providing our students with the best possible preparation for the DP and beyond.
