Launching the new library at SOS-HGIC was a momentous occasion, marking a commitment to academic excellence and intellectual growth. The event unveiled a modern, well-equipped facility to inspire a love for reading and learning. Students and staff toured the space, which includes updated resources, study areas, and technology to support diverse learning needs. Speeches highlighted the importance of access to knowledge and the library's role in fostering curiosity and innovation. The launch was celebrated enthusiastically, setting a positive tone for the school’s academic endeavors.

The SOS-HGIC Singing Competition was a memorable event that showcased the student body's diverse musical talents. Our students delivered stunning performances that captured both the judges and the audience. The competition fostered a sense of camaraderie and encouraged students to express themselves creatively. Congratulations to the Trojans on their third consecutive victory in the inter-hostel singing competition! Congratulations to the other hostel teams for their incredible performances and hard work. The Spartans secured a well-deserved second place, the Titans came in strong at third, and the Vikings claimed fourth place.

The IG2 Geography Class undertook a beach survey on 13th April 2017 at Sakumono beach, Tema. This exercise was designed to take students out of the four walls of the classroom and the two sides of the textbook into the environment for them to operationalize some of the key concepts learnt in the classroom. Specifically, students measured longhshore drift, constructive and destructive waves, and beach profile. The students also interviewed residents on the likely causes of beach pollution, the value of the beach in the socio-economic life of the residents of Sakumono Village and above all, samples of pebbles were picked
