News Decoder – Congratulations to Maame Efua Kome-Mensah
Congratulations to Maame Efua Kome-Mensah, a dedicated and hardworking DP2 student who has recently been recognized for becoming a runner-up in the global storytelling contest held by News Decoder. Her essay, titled ‘I Want To Be a Winner Who Leaves the World a Better Place’ chronicles her personal understanding of what winning means.
News Decoder is a global educational news service for young people. Their mission is to help young people develop internationally-recognized global citizenship competencies, including the ability to communicate to global audiences, appreciate diverse perspectives, think critically about global issues and identify solutions to local, national, and global problems.
Students from SOS-HGIC have been participating in News Decoder activities since the college
enrolled in the program in August 2021. They have also participated in virtual global webinars with students from around the world and through these experiences have strengthened their communication skills while discussing and improving their awareness of global issues.
It is clear that Maame Efua is a well-rounded and accomplished individual, and we are proud to see her receiving the recognition she deserves.
