SOS-HGIC Student Refurbishes the KG Classroom Block For the Adidiso Community
Incoming DP(Diploma Programme) student, Maame Afua Asabea Yeboah, a student at SOS-Hermann Gmeiner International College, was inspired to refurbish and furnish the Kindergarten classroom block at Adidiso Municipal Assembly Basic School near Nankese in the Eastern Region. The funds raised were used to repair and paint the ceiling, supply cupboards for teaching materials, and provide furniture for the children, all amounting to GH¢6,000. Maame Afua financed the project through funds earned from selling snacks and lemonade, along with income from weekend and holiday work in her mother’s stores.
She was driven by the desire to recreate the lively and colorful learning environment she had experienced in her own education. Maame Afua’s generous initiative was celebrated in a ceremony attended by school officials, parents, and community members, where she urged parents to prioritize their children’s education for a better future. The school’s headmaster expressed gratitude for the transformation, emphasizing the positive impact on teaching and learning. To read more about the article please click on the link below:
