SOS-HGIC Wellness Day

Wellness Day was created to introduce both students and staff to the concept of mindfulness to the SOS-HGIC community, and teach effective coping skills that we can use to alleviate the stresses of daily life. We were joined by Nana Amoako-Anin of Bliss Yoga Accra, who shared stories about her mindfulness journey in a talk titled “While You Keep Doing Your Best, Take A Long, Great Exhale”, and led the community in exercises over the course of the day. Through mindful meditation and mindful breathing exercises, as well as a gratitude circle and journaling hub, students and staff were given the opportunity to relax, reflect, and connect with their physical and emotional wellbeing.
